Orthotics
Your feet are your base of support and this is often the starting point of the physical examination with Dr. Steve. Dysfunction in your feet cannot only affect the mechanics of your feet but it can also compromise the mechanics of all things in the kinetic chain linked to your feet (think ankles, hips, knees, lumbar spine, even shoulder and neck mechanics). Orthotics are designed to align the feet and the ankles in an anatomically efficient position. Just like glasses work to reduce eye strain and help you see better, orthotics work to reduce stress/strain on your body by bringing your feet back into proper alignment. Custom made orthotics re-direct and reduce certain movements that take place in the gait cycle.
Who needs Orthotics? Individuals with foot pain, bunions/hammer toes, arch or heel pain, or people with back, hip even neck pain may benefit from a corrective orthotic device.
