About Me

Dr. Steve Gillis graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Physical Education degree (BPE) in 1994. Dr. Steve furthered his education attending the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he graduated with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree (DC) as class valedictorian in 1999. Throughout high school and university athletics, Dr. Steve was a nationally ranked track and field athlete in the long jump.

Professionally, Dr. Steve has done chiropractic locum work in Sydney, Australia, practiced as a solo practitioner in Hagersville, Ontario and since 2001 has been an associate at a multidisciplinary centre in Brampton helping families and athletes attain their optimum health potential.

Dr. Steve is very active in the community in which he practices volunteering his time enthusiastically promoting chiropractic and it’s benefits. He has served as the team chiropractor for The McMaster University Varsity Swim Teams, The Mississauga Ice Dogs and The Vaughan Kings Hockey Clubs, The A. Carolei men’s soccer club and has been involved at numerous triathlons as part of the medical tent team. Dr. Steve is also a sought after public speaker, delivering well over 200 wellness workshop presentations on a variety of topics to numerous audiences throughout Brampton. He is also a regular guest lecturer at the Running Room and has recently been involved with the Brampton Fire Department educating the new recruits about spinal health and injury prevention.

Dr. Steve is continually upgrading his clinical skills to provide the best possible care to his patients. He is the only full body certified ART provider in Brampton and has advanced training in Nerve Entrapments, Active Palpation and is Masters’ ART credentialed studying under Dr. Michael Leahy the founder of ART. Dr. Steve is also a certified Thompson Technique practitioner and has extensive training on gait analysis and orthotic prescription.

When Dr. Steve is not practicing chiropractic he enjoys spending time with his wife Danielle, and his two children Ashton and Addison in his native Oakville. He also enjoys hot yoga, travel, reading and cooking.
